22/05/2007 Drink Interview with -Brionnee Naish The Buzz May 07 Drink: Energy & Passion! The music is positive, energetic, thought provoking and passionate. Singer Songwriter Daniel Rink says this is a deliberate attempt to stand out in stark contrast to much of the music we hear which is ominous and dreary. Drink is in the business of making people happy and excited. ‘Chris (guitarist) and I went to school together and learnt to play guitar in high school when we were 14 years old. We used to play together back then and then we came back together 5 or 6 years ago and started writing together again’ And is you think the name of the band is a literal form of intoxication promotion well it’s not. The name is simply a derivative of Daniels own name Daniel Rink. He recalls the first time it became apparent to him that his name was ‘Drink’ ‘One day I put my name on my lunch order at school I ended up getting a drink in my lunch order’ One thing that can be said about the music Drink are producing, is that it is uniquely happy music. They give off a catchy and energetic vibe. Daniel says ‘ we are all passionate about music and we love playing live. We were probably originally a production band but as we got out and played live it’s become more about playing live’ The band is preparing to go into the studio to record some new tracks. I’m told these tracks will be the first lot of tracks that will be written with the whole band having some input into the songwriting process. They will also be adopting some new aspects to the style of their music. ‘The newer songs are going to have some more keyboards and we are going to be going for something more experimental and modern’ There are a few goals on the cards for Drink. ‘We’d like to find management and we haven’t toured interstate yet so we’d like to do that and we are planning a trip to the USA.’ So while the road isn’t fully paved for Drink just yet, there is one thing that you can be sure of when you see them at a live gig. It’s going to be loud! Daniel says they often have problems with the PA’s in venues ‘They are never loud enough’
01/04/2007 Drink today went into the rehearsal rooms to work on some new tunes and they are sounding awesome. A new sound has been born the new tunes are going to surprise! We also took a few band photo's after rehearsal check them out in our Photo's section!

Drink – Time

I picked up the CD and got something completely unexpected. This is a feel good album reeking of optimisms. The pop rock is bright, energetic, happy and enthusiastic…the album cover belies it’s content. It’s certainly an elevating mix of happy rock that is bound to get people up dancing. It’s a nice change to hear songs about love that aren’t depressing and sulky. The music is melodic with some dramatic highs that make it a compelling listen. ‘Good Times Last’ has an exceptionally catch chorus and a groove that cannot be refused. Try to sit still to this song. The whole vibe is elevating and makes you want to take on the world….well almost. ‘One in a Million’ is another track that has a great melody and chorus stays with you as does the groovy bass line. Whoever these guys are, they have a great songwriter at the helm, and the band is very tight as a whole. Both the rhythm and lead guitars sound fantastic. If you’re in the mood for a party, this is the album to put in the player.
